Hapkin is a beer brewed in Belgium, made to a recipe dating from 1877.
Originally produced by the Louwaege brewery, it is now brewed by Alken-Maes brewery.
Hapkin is a limpid beer that pours an attractive orange colour. It has a deep head that is both airy and persistent.
In the glass, it delivers fresh and spicy aromas of yeast accompanied by fruity hints of hops.
The alcohol is very discreet and in the mouth, Hapkin appears mild with a certain roundness from the malts.
It then develops spicy flavours of yeast suggestive of coriander, together with fruity and flowery flavours of hops.
It has a discreet hint of alcohol with a last-minute bitterness making its appearance. The overall impression remains mild with a relatively sugary finish.
