A complex, flavoursome Black IPA brewed by Mean Sardine.
Pours black with an inviting beige head.
Aromas of citrus fruits, liqueur, chocolate, pine and grapefruit.
Flavours of chocolate, caramel, coffee, fruits, hops, pine and spices.
Black IPA was all the rage a few years back, but its popularity dropped off – apparently for no good reason. Thankfully, Portuguese craft brewery and Discovery Box alumnus Mean Sardine are keeping the faith with Voragem, a classic BIPA mixing IPA hops and sweet chocolatey malts.
Pouring handsome chocolate brown, Voragem exudes sweet mocha coffee and dark chocolate malts with hints of liquorice that work with the pine and grapefruit hops character to draw you into its dark heart.
On the palate, Voragem is a creamy-textured treat with more chocolate toffee tones and vibrant grapefruit and orange citrus notes, all topped off with a generous pine resin note to seal the deal!
