Barrel-aged gourmet Imperial Stout with a vibrant raspberry character
Jet-black body, red highlights, caramel head
Chocolate, raspberry, alcohol, dark malts
Chocolate-raspberry tart, stone fruits, dark-roast malt
warm & toasty
Based in the southern French city of Angoulême, the La Débauche brewery is already expert at barrel-aging with fruit. Their latest creation, Amorena Framboise, is another sumptuous Imperial Stout, this time barrel-aged with raspberries.
Pouring jet-black with a small mahogany head, you're treated to rich fruit notes akin to a fine chocolate-raspberry tart, and laced with alcoholic, dark malt notes.
The taste is equally rich with more chocolate and liqueur notes, and a full, fruity coffee character that's brought to life by the 14% ABV. All in all this gateau in a bottle is a triumph!
