A classic Belgian Monastery Dark Ale from the Abbaye des Rocs
belgian golden strong ale
Dark brown, red highlights
Malt, caramel, stone fruit
Malt, caramel, bittersweet, plums
This dark ale is brewed in Belgium by the Abbaye des Rocs using no fewer than seven types of malt and three types of hops from Germany, the Czech Republic and of course Belgium, to make a beer of supreme quality. Pouring dark brown, the translucent body glows ruby in the light.
The bouquet is complex, consisting of malt, caramel, stone fruit and spices. If you found the nose inviting, you’ll love the taste, as it is a perfect reproduction of the bouquet.
Developing throughout the tasting, it offers sweet malts and caramels accompanied by spice notes courtesy of the yeast, as well as a light toasted character.
This rich, unctuous beer is persistent on the palate, thanks in part to its pleasing bitterness and lends itself perfectly to meat dishes.
