Belgium does not have the monopoly of Abbey beers, this Andechs Doppel Dunkel is brewed in the monastery of Andechs by the Benedictine monks of Saint Boniface. To brew this beer, the monks only choose the best raw material from Bavaria.
This German beer has a nice black robe topped by a generous and creamy white head. The nose is very pleasant with notes of candied fruits and caramel. The mouth, very mild reveals notes of bread and spices. The finish is slightly bitter. A real great beer!
Andechs Doppel Dunkel will please the lovers of the doppel style. If you like this kind of beer, we recommend you to taste the Ayinger Celebrator, another impressive German beer!
