Brasserie Saint-Germain has unveiled the latest in its black edition range with the Page 24 Barley Wine, a beer whose complexities arise from a particular brewing method that manages to achieve a perfect balance between bitter and sweet notes.

This Barley Wine pours a dark amber topped with a fine white head lit up by orange undertones.

A rich malt aroma evokes accents of caramel in harmonious contrast with the citrusy punch of the American hops.

The journey from nose to palate is decidedly sweet and reassuringly syrupy. The hop has no trouble holding its own, however, and delivers ample fruitiness with a spirited bitterness.
