Named after John Hall's granddaughter, Sofie, Goose Island's award-winning Saison is one of the brewery's signature brews. This special-edition wine barrel-aged Saison pours champagne blonde with a foamy white head, breathing elegant fruity malts and a superb champagne-like bouquet.
On the tongue, the lively carbonation and slender body are refreshingly fruity, augmented by an indecent amount of hand-zested orange peel, lifting the zesty Amarillo hops and classic Belgian yeast to a deliciously piquant vanilla finish. If ever there was a beer crafted to convert the wine-snobs away from their Sauvignon Blanc or Pino Grigio, this could well be the one!
