Light, perfumed, powerful black IPA by La Débauche
Black, thick beige head
Hops, woody, caramel, coffee, toasted malt
Coffee, hops, dark malt
Light and perfumed are the two principal characteristics of Chapitre 13, a Black IPA brewed by La Débauche of Angouleme, France.
Like its siblings, Chapitre 13 bears a label designed by a luminary of the Angouleme arts scene, this time the talented illustrator Zoé Crevette.
Pouring black with a light beige head, at just 3% ABV this black IPA-style beer leaves plenty of room to pack in flavour.
Proof that you don’t need alcohol to be interesting, lightly sparkling Chapitre 13’s aroma is a mix of hops, woody tones, smoky tones, coffee and toasted malts.
On the tongue there are more coffee notes mingling with hop resin, and toasted malts for a truly accomplished beer.
