Beery Christmas Day 4 : Round Corner Brewing – Mack Opus
Round Corner Brewing, a committed and renowned brewery
In the Leicestershire district of England lies the town of Melton Mowbray, known as the rural food capital of the UK. Famous for its pork pies and Stilton cheese it is a place with a thriving agricultural economy that attracts over 100,000 people a year. To accompany all this local food, what better than a good craft brew? You guessed it, it's Round Corner Brewing! Working in perfect harmony with all of the surrounding merchants, they don't hesitate to integrate ingredients from these partners during the brewing of their beers.
At the helm of this brewing company are Combie and Colin, two co-founders, the latter of whom is the head brewer, in a perpetual quest for excellence when it comes to brewing.
A big name in the field, he has worked in large breweries as well as smaller ones, even becoming a member of the jury for the World Beer Cups. He has amassed a lot of gold medals on his way, like at the International Brewing Awards, the European Beer Challenge or the World Beer Awards.
Round Corner Brewing - Mack Opus
What you need to know is that this Mack Opus has already been brewed in the past as a Best Bitter. Because of its success with beer lovers, Round Corner Brewing decided to do it again for our Beer Flavor Advent Calendar, the Beery Christmas.
You will discover an American Brown Ale, in 33cl can format.
From its name, Mack Opus, is a brown beer with a brown, mahogany color, topped by a fine beige foam, for aromas of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dried fruits and caramel, accompanied by notes of marmalade and citrus-orange. It has the particularity of using the experimental hop variety CF-182, also known as Opus, which will add to the determination of this beer with new flavors. In terms of hop aroma and bitterness, it's well balanced with a silky mouthfeel that comes from the use of sweet malt.
Unfiltered, as is usually the case with craft beers, you may get some deposits at the bottom of your bottle or in your glass when serving, which doesn't interfere with its enjoyment at all. If you wish to avoid this, we advise you to pour the beer gently and leave the end of the bottle in its container.
It should be enjoyed at a temperature between 8 and 10°C with strong cheese.
ALCOHOL ABUSE IS DANGEROUS FOR YOUR HEALTH! PLEASE CONSUME WITH MODERATION.
