Beery Christmas Day 5 : La Débauche Nina Blanca
The French brewing landscape has nothing to envy to others. The proof is La Débauche, a brewery located in the town of Angoulême, in the southwest of France, a place famous for its Charentais melons, its pineau or its cognac, but also of course for its microbrewery.
La Débauche
La Débauche is a craft brewery that brews original beers, marked by colorful labels designed by Angoumois artists, such as graphic designers, tattoo artists, painters and many others. We can count for example Zoé Crevette at the origin of the label of the Queen Flamingo, Fred Le Chevalier for the Lindy Hop, L'Encrier Fêlé for the Nevermore, Geoffrey Grimal for the Cognac Barrel or Elzo Durt for the Baltic Porter. You can recognize La Débauche's beers at first glance! La Débauche wants its bottles to be true works of art, both in terms of content and container, because it is always more pleasant to taste a beer in a pretty bottle.
Beyond its neat design, La Débauche is a French microbrewery that has successfully developed. Opened in July 2013 by Aurélien and Eglantine, it now consists of a wide range of craft beers with about 30 references, ranging from blonde to brown, through black. Beyond the colors, you can also fill up on flavors, with sour, bitter, barrel-aged beers and even experimental ones like the Cute & Sober or the Cherryleader. For those who say they don't like beer, suggest they try some of La Débauche's beers, and they're bound to find some suds that will satisfy their taste buds.
As the years went by, the brewery grew and needed to expand its space. It is only after five years of existence that the move takes place, in the street of the Lines in Angoulême. From then on, she could brew more and develop her range, in order to share her passion with beer lovers in their taproom.
Today, it has made its way to be in our tenth advent calendar Beery Christmas, if that is not beautiful!
The Debauchery - Nina Blanca
La niña blanca, translated from Spanish by the white girl, gives us a nice overview of the style of the beer, which will be... A white beer! White beer, also called wheat beer, witbier in Belgium or Weizenbier in Germany, is a wheat beer brewed with a proportion of at least 50% wheat, malted or not. These are top-fermented beers that are generally unfiltered, hence the particularly hazy and milky appearance from which the name white beer derives.
In the case of Niña Blanca, it is a white beer with lemon and 5% alcohol. Very refreshing, it first offers a visual experience and then leads us to a gustatory journey.
When it is poured into a glass, we see a yellow and veiled color, topped by a thick and creamy white foam.
We find aromas of cereals, herbs, coriander and citrus fruits such as yellow lemon, as well as fruity flavors of lemon and spices with a touch of bitterness and acidity.
It's a smooth, somewhat sweet beer with a delicate body, accompanied by light carbonation. The finish is dry and persistent with a nice balance. It should be tasted at a temperature of 6°C, with seafood.
ALCOHOL ABUSE IS DANGEROUS FOR YOUR HEALTH! PLEASE CONSUME WITH MODERATION.
