Why you need a Dunkel in your life
And new on PerfectDraft, is Franziskaner Dunkel Hefe-Weisse. Dunkel is German for ‘dark’ and this brew from the renowned Bavarian brewery Franziskaner, is a dark wheat beer brewed. It's often found served in the winter in mountain huts in the Bavarian Alps, in in the beer halls of Munich.
It has a lush, cream-colored beer foam and inspires with its dark amber colour with strong yeast cloudiness. It is the big sister to Franziskaner's classic Hefe-Weisse, with a richer caramel note, darker hue and a more pronounced clove and banana yeast aromas.
Tasting it, you’ll find notes of fresh bread, nuts and caramel with classic German hops giving a light bitterness. Franziskaner describe it as having a ‘sensual baroque appearance’ and the perfect foil for wheat beer connoisseurs and lovers of dark beers.
Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier dunkel pairs brilliantly with dark meats.
