Distilling Malt is a lightly-toasted 2-row spring Barley Malt. Its colouring is 2.5-3.7 EBC or 1.4-3.7 Lovibond. It is designed for distilling whisky and other grain spirits thanks to its high diastatic power to release the maximum sugars.
The Barley is soaked to achieve a greater humidity than other traditional Pilsen Malts. It is then lightly roasted in order to preserve the enzymes and increase fermentability.
It is a premium product, specially produced for distilleries and used whisky production.
You should store your Distilling Malt in a cool dry place for a maximum of 24 months. If the Malt has been milled, it should be used within 3 months to ensure the maximum flavour.
