Product Description

Specially selected for bottle or cask refermentation, Safbrew F-2offers brewers everything they need for refermentation, includingpreserving your beer in tip-top condition, giving a rounded matured character, carbonation, and adequate fall-out at the bottom of the bottle or keg. This eats precious little maltotriose, but assimilate base sugars such as glucose, fructose, saccharose, and maltose very well.It is characterised by subtle a neutral aromatic profile that allows the beer's flavours to show through. Safbrew F-2 is resistant to elevated alcohol content, with a fermentation temperature of 15-25°C (59-77°F). This yeast must not be rehydrated directly in the beer. Dosage is 20-70g per 100 litre. How to rehydrate dried yeast? Two possibilities, either place the dried yeast in 10 times its weight in water or mash at 27°C +/-3°C. Let it rest for 15-30 minutes, then stir gently.Use 5 to 10g of sugar per litre of beer to achieve a CO2 saturation of 2.5 to 5g/l.Then add the rehydrated yeast to the sugared beer at a temperature of 20-25°C.At 20-25°C, carbonation will be complete in 1-2 weeks.Once refermentation is complete, store your beer in a cool place. The rounded flavour profile will develop within 2-3 weeks.   Storage: The yeast can be transported at ambient temperature so long as this does not last more than 3 months. Once it arrives at its destination, store it in a cool, dry place below 10°C. The shelf-life for yeast is 2 years from date of production. Check the use-by date on the packet. An open sachet of yeast can be stored below 4°C and should be used within 7 days of opening.
