Recently returned from the Dutch Beer Challenge, Haarlem’s Het Uiltje can be a bit smug about Dr Raptor, as their Imperial IPA scooped a gold medal at the prestigious event.
Billed as their hoppiest beer ever, this deep amber brew offers a bouquet bursting with biscuity malts and tropical pineapple, papaya, grapefruit and pine hops.
The generous, respectably carbonated body hides its whopping 9.2% ABV well, with more exotic lime, grapefruit, pineapple and spruce hops, and just a hint of bubblegum that ties this mighty smooth DIPA together beautifully.
