Mean Sardine Tordesilhas

Sweet, spicy Imperial Stout with a piquant secret

10°

  • Mean Sardine Tordesilhas

Created by Portugal’s Mean Sardine, Tordesilhas is a tribute to the Treaty of Tordersilhas. Signed 1494 the treaty divided up the New World and all the spicy treasures it held. Back then chilli, vanilla, and cinnamon were worth a fortune, and in an Imperial Stout like Tordesilhas, they still are!

Jet-black beneath a tan head, there’s a warm spicy character that hangs over the rich dark molasses malt, evoking sweet, piquant Mexican hot chocolate.

This character reappears on the slick, silky-smooth palate, with a warming chilli and cinnamon character to lift the softly carbonated malt-heavy bitterness to a bittersweet, spicy finish.
